World Cup Finals: One Round for the 3rd Place Playoff & the Final
The FIFA World Cup finishes with two matches — the 3rd Place Playoff and the Final — played on the final weekend of the tournament.
Based on feedback from players, we’ve combined them into a single Finals round that contains both matches. You make your picks for the 3rd Place Playoff and the Final together, in the one round.
Why we made this change
Most players told us the two matches belong together as one final act of the World Cup, rather than a short one-match round followed by another.
This is now the default
All World Cup games use the combined Finals round by default – there’s nothing you need to do.

If you’d rather your game keep the 3rd Place Playoff and the Final as two separate rounds, we’re happy to set that up for you:
- Open your game.
- Open the Feedback menu from the top right context menu (3 dots icon)
- Send us a message asking for separate final rounds.
Please send your request ASAP so we can update your game in time — once players have started tipping the Finals round, switching back can affect picks that have already been submitted.
