Last weekend some multi-league Last Man Standing games were scored incorrectly. If your game includes League One alongside other leagues, this may have affected you.
What happened
League One had a heavily reduced round on Saturday 26 September. Of the 12 scheduled matches, 8 were postponed or moved to a later date, leaving just 4 that went ahead.
Tippd has a long-standing rule for this. When a league’s round has too few matches left to be a fair round, the round is skipped and anyone who had already made a pick is given a bye. For a game that only uses League One, that is exactly what should happen.
The problem was with multi-league games. The rule was being applied to League One on its own, before its matches were combined with the other leagues in your game. So the 4 League One matches that were played were removed from the week’s round, even though the round still had plenty of matches from the other leagues.
As a result, any pick on one of those 4 matches was treated as a bye. Players who picked a League One team that lost were put through to the next round when they should have been knocked out.
Who was affected
A small number of multi-league Last Man Standing games that include League One. Single-league games were not affected, and neither were Predictor games.
What we’ve changed
For multi-league games, the minimum matches check now looks at the combined round, after every league has been added together. A quiet weekend in one league no longer removes that league’s matches from your round.
Game |
When a league has too few matches in a round |
|---|---|
| Single-league game | No change. The round is skipped and any picks already made are treated as a bye. |
| Multi-league game (before) | That league’s matches were removed from the week’s round, even if they were played. |
| Multi-league game (now) | Every match that goes ahead counts, from every league in your game. The round is only skipped if the combined round has too few matches. |
Postponed matches are still removed from a round as they always have been. That hasn’t changed.
What happens to affected games
We are re-processing the affected games so that last weekend’s round reflects the real results:
- If you picked a League One team that won, nothing changes. You’re still in.
- If you picked a League One team that lost or drew, you will now be shown as knocked out in that round.
- If you picked a team from another league, nothing changes.
We know it’s frustrating to be told you’re through and then find out you’re not. We’d rather your game finish with the right winner, and we’re sorry for the confusion.
