Facebook Login Error

UPDATE 20/11/2023 – After weeks of back and forth with Facebook the issue seems to be resolved, ultimately it was a glitch in their systems which required escalation to their internal technical teams multiple times to get fully resolved.

As of late last week we started receiving complaints that Facebook login was not working for some users.
For those impacted with current games in play we have a workaround for you.

WORKAROUND:
The quickest way to regain access to your account is to contact us by email at info@tippd.co using the subject “Facebook Account Recovery”, make sure to use the same email address you use to login to your Facebook account.
Once we verify your account we will create a new Tippd account for you (email/password), which will remove the dependency on Facebook (and still retain all of your data).
You will receive instructions to follow the Forgot Password flow, and once your email is verified you will be back into your account.

BACKUP OPTION:
If you are still unable to access your account, you can email us your selection for the week.
Please send an email to info@tippd.co before the first match kicks off in the round. 
Make sure to include:

  • Game URL
  • Game Name
  • Your Name in the Game
  • Your Tip for the week (Make sure to select a team you have not already used)
  • Make sure to send this email using the same email address you use to login to your Facebook account.

More Info:
We have used Facebook Login since we first launched Tippd some 6-7 years ago. Over the years various API requirements, Privacy and Compliance details have changed. In the lifetime of this app being available we only ever request your Public Profile (which means your Name and public Profile Picture – these are used for display purposes in the app) along with your Email Address (used to send Tip reminders/notifications).
When we completed the latest Data Use Checkup (which is a business as usual process completed each year), we noticed the Facebook login was broken.  It looks as though we now have to resubmit the app for review and business for verification to remain able to use Facebook Login. We have submitted all of this information and advised it should take 2 business days however we are now on day 4 and are unable to get a direct line of contact to anyone at Facebook to help us out.
